Hands Up Lake County Business Competition 2021 Major Sponsors

The number of participants narrowed from 50 hopefuls who applied for the Competition to 20 participants who made it to the one-day training and mini-competition, and 5 participants and 1 alternate who will compete for the final round.

A Fan Favorite prize will be awarded to one lucky finalist. The public voting begins on November 18, 2021, and ends on December 10, 2021, at 6 pm. From there, we will tally up the votes and announce the winner during the event on December 12, 2021.

As part of the competition, each finalist will have the opportunity to pitch their business idea to a panel of judges. Five prizes will be awarded at the final competition, as follows: The first place receives $20,000, second place receives $12,000, third place receives $8,000, fourth place receives $6,000, and fifth place receives $4,000. The total seed funding awarded in this event is $50,000.

The City of Clearlake is a picturesque lakeside city in Lake County. With almost 16,000 residents, the community enjoys an array of outdoor and recreational activities, beauty and charm, and award-winning wines. They were a generous major sponsor last year donating a total of $10,000. This year, they continue their involvement by still being our major sponsor.

Foods Etc. – IGA is a local supermarket that provides a variety of fresh produce at a reasonable cost and gives back to the community by selling locally sourced ingredients. They extend their support to the community through their contribution to this year’s competition.

The City of Lakeport is located in Lake County on the west shore of Clearlake. Lakeport is known for its recreational activities, such as boating, bass fishing, wakeboarding, swimming, sailing, and kayaking, and is a destination for many tourists. The City of Lakeport is a proud sponsor of 1Team 1Dream.

Lake County Tribal Health Consortium is also one of our major sponsors. They offer a wide range of services and programs to help everyone achieve good health. They are experts in treating the chronic medical needs of Lake County residents, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. and work to treat acute illness and injuries.
